We hope that you have been able to enjoy the sunshine and get the reprieve of shade when needed as this week has seen soaring temperatures across the board.
Summer represents a time of strength and provides an opportunity to embark on new adventures, so it seems fitting to create a space within this season to recognise how business women across the Highlands are doing just this.
Sponsored by the Springfield Group, the 2022 Highland Business Women (HBW) Awards will take place at the end of August to honour individuals and organisations who have stood out. Having talked about strength, an element of this comes in the form of support, and when running a successful business, having a strong team is essential.
This has been recognised by Jewson, which is supporting the team of the year award at the 2022 Highland Business Women Awards.
Craig McPherson, business unit director at Jewson, commented on why the firm is proud to be supporting this category at this year’s awards: “The best teams in the world are unstoppable and we are delighted to be sponsoring HBW team of the year 2022.
“At Jewson, our strongest and best performing teams all have women at the heart of their success, so we are happy to be able to spotlight the amazing achievements and contributions of women to businesses across the Highlands.”
Another element of strength, or word for it is that of resilience.
Resilience is the ability to overcome adversity, successfully adapt to challenges and recover quickly from difficulties. This is a trait Highland businesses know well and has been even more prominent over the course of the last few years.
For this reason, the resilience award will run again at the 2022 HBW Awards.
This award was won last year by Mikeysline for the incredible tenacity that the mental health charity showed throughout the year.
Application information and details of other award categories can be found at www.hbw.scot/awards with entries closing at midnight on July 31.
The HBW Awards will take place at the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness on August 25.
Tickets are on sale costing £70+VAT for members and £75+VAT for non-members.
