The Murray State Racers (10-9, 5-4 MVC) come home for a Saturday tilt against the Indiana State Sycamores (13-7, 6-3 MVC). Tip time is 5 p.m. at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky.
The home court is very important and the Racers will try to keep their success this season going, where they are 6-1 in The Bank, in their first meeting with the Sycamores since 2008. In the calendar year of 2008, the Racers lost at home to the Sycamores in February 79-62 in the ESPN BracketBuster game, but won in Terre Haute in 2008 November 67-61.
The halfway mark of the 20-game 2022-23 MVC season is here and home teams are winning big. Bradley and Belmont are a combined 9-0 at home to date and the one loss teams include the Racers, UNI, Drake, Missouri State and Southern Illinois. One thing is certain, every team in The Valley understands the parity and fierce competition that exists in the league. With Bradley’s 78-67 win at Indiana State and Missouri State’s 65-62 victory at Drake this week, visiting teams in MVC games are still only winning at a clip of .370 (20-34). The Racers hit the road next week for a game with the Salukis Tuesday night and have away games yet to come at MOSU, INDST, Bradley and Illinois State.
The Racers’ first meeting with the Bears happens in Murray (Jan. 28) on Ja Morant poster day and they return the game to ISU on Feb. 4.
