CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — The P.E.I. Business Women’s Association and Copper Bottom Brewing Company are partnering to launch a new micro grant program to help women in business.
To fund the program, Copper Bottom Brewing is releasing a beer called Betty’s Ale commemorating Island singer and songwriter Ashley Condon’s mother, as part of their GiveBack Initiative series.
One dollar from each can or pint sold will be donated to PEIBWA to support the micro grant program.
The beer was launched on July 5 to coincide with Condon’s one-woman show Betty’s Song playing at the Confederation Centre of the Arts until July 28.
The beverage will be available exclusively at Copper Bottom Brewing and at the Confederation Centre of the Arts.
Five $500 micro grants will be awarded through the partnership. Applications are available online and will remain open until Aug. 12 at midnight.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Copper Bottom Brewing on this micro grant opportunity for Island business women,” said PEIBWA CEO Margaret Magner.
“Copper Bottom is committed to supporting the community through the Give Back Initiative, and we are pleased that this year they have reached out to PEIBWA.”
