A KENDAL business woman has been praised for her services by the Cumbrian Prestige Awards.
Dawn Stainer, from Kendal, is the owner and founder of Lakeland Mediation Solutions which has recently been awarded with the ‘Mediation Service of the Year 2022-2023 – Cumbria’ by Prestige Awards
She set up the company four years ago which focuses on providing workplace and Civil and Commercial Mediation Services and now provides dispute resolution for various businesses and organisation locally, nationally, and internationally.
She has also been recognised as a leading service in mediation for the county.
Dawn said: “I was originally from Bolton and went to school there, but I left when I was 18. I came to the Lakes after University in 1999 and settled in Kendal in 2001.
“I began Mediation Services four years ago and it has gradually built up from being a local to an international business.
“It’s nice to work in Cumbria but a lot of my business comes from outside the county, and it is growing.
“I think that contributed to the award and it’s amazing being recognised for these various services.
“Work place mediation is growing and it’s being recognised more and more. It’s a growing area and there will be a need for it across the world.
“I work with other mediators, and we do a lot of work with a company in Cyprus.
“I offer a lot of work place services which is a growing area as well.
“It was amazing to receive the award. Some awards you get told about and you wait to get short listed, but this one was amazing to get and it meant a lot since it was from Cumbria.
“The ceremony itself will be held in August which I’m really excited about.
“Lakeland Mediation Solutions is based at home but I have clients from all over the world. I have people from the west coast, Dutch importers, Cyprus businesses, and others.
“As it’s online a lot of the time that works a lot better for many businesses.
“The pandemic brought out a lot of international clients who took their work onto the internet.”
