Event planning is no easy task. Shadia and Francesca, the owners behind Lily & Rose Events, are proving the world that they can just about do anything they set their minds too. These two fabulously talented ladies are planning events like there is no tomorrow. If you’ve ever had the chance to attend a wedding that was planned by Lily & Rose Events then you were in for a treat. No two events alike, these ladies are leaving their touch (and talent) in every event they plan. We were lucky enough that they were able to find time in their busy schedule (it is wedding season after all!) to answer our questions. Read below for the full interview!
BWR: What was the inspiration behind your event planning company?
Shadia & Francesca: The main goal was always to create beautiful events with a very personalized approach. Getting to know our clients on a personal level is very important to us as we become in some ways an extension of their families. Being limitless in terms of products, services and types of events has been a very important direction for the growth of our business. Therefore, we are proud to market our business as a ‘’one stop shop for all events needs’’.
BWR: How do you manage to keep each event original and unique?
Shadia & Francesca: Our clients are the driving force behind each event. Keeping things tailored and unique is very important to us. The worst that could happen is to create generic events that don’t reflect the clients’ personalities and taste. Getting to know our clients is a key component to a successful event.
BWR: What would you say is the most challenging part of your job?
Shadia & Francesca: Unrealistic budgets unfortunately. We do spend time educating some clients who might be lacking knowledge of the market place on the value of certain products/services. This can be a challenge sometimes but overall our clients are good at acknowledging the prices of different services and also valuing what they are getting.
BWR: What is your number one marketing strategy?
Shadia & Francesca: Social media is a huge part of our strategy. Creating beautiful ‘’magazine worthy’’ content is key. Furthermore, networking and creating solid partnerships is priceless.
BWR: What would you say is the most important part when it comes to successfully planning an event?
Shadia & Francesca: Having clear expectations, direct lines of communications with your planners/vendors and allowing your planners to add their little flavor to your event.
BWR: Where do you get your inspiration from?
Shadia & Francesca: Keeping informed of what is new and happening in our field is very important. Magazines, blogs, shows, travels… inspiration is everywhere and in everything. Fashion is a huge source of inspiration as well and is easily transferable into event planning. What our peers are doing in their connexe line of work (bakers and florist or example) is also very inspirational.
BWR: How do you deal with competition?
Shadia & Francesca: What competition? Joke aside, we see our peers as motivation to grow and do better. We feel there is enough business to go around and keep everyone busy. Plus, our unique personalities are why our clients work with us. There are no other Shadia and Francesca out there that do what we do the way we do it.
BWR: What has been your biggest accomplishment to date? What are you most proud of?
Shadia & Francesca: Growing our business from two #mompreuneurs to having an amazing team. Being recognized as a leading force in our field and being referred is also a huge accomplishment for us
BWR: Where do you see yourself in 10 years? What is your main goal?
Shadia & Francesca: Planning events worldwide is something we are working towards. We have exciting projects in the making and we hope to accomplish those goals before the next 10 years mark!
