Sponsored by the Springfield Group the 2022 Highland Business Women (HBW) Awards take place in August at the Kingsmills Hotel.

Recognising entrepreneurial women from across the region, the awards provide an opportunity to celebrate the business successes that have been achieved over the past 12 months.

The last few years have seen pressures mount up as businesses have had to adapt to the various unprecedented challenges presented.

This has led to a time of much growth, ingenuity and creativity as people have found new ways to approach both daily life and business.

It is important to recognise this, so Red Door Gin has decided to sponsor the 2022 HBW award for the most enterprising business.

For this sponsor, it is vital to honour those who have had the guts, determination and innovation within the world of business in the Highlands.

Ewen Mackintosh, managing director of Red Door Gin, said that his company is proud to be supporting this category and honouring all the women who have been trailblazers in entrepreneurship in the midst of uncertain times.

He said: “Red Door Gin is delighted to be supporting the category for the most enterprising business at the Highland Business Women Awards.

“It’s important to recognise those who have been entrepreneurial, especially over the last two years that we have just had.

“It’s a great category and we are happy to support the enterprising women throughout the Highlands.”

Last year’s winner of the 2021 most enterprising category was Joanna Mackenzie, from Bettyhill, for her joint businesses The Store Café and the Clean Bees cleaning agency.

The awards are also a time to recognise individual women within the region who have stood out for their leadership, drive and determination within the field of business.

The business woman of the year award is a prestigious award that honours one person and gives them the opportunity to establish more of a presence across the Highlands.

Highlands and Islands Enterprise Northern Innovation Hub is supporting this category once again and is happy to be helping innovative women who have shone in 2022.

Claire Munro, senior project manager at HIE Northern Innovation Hub, said: “Highlands and Islands Enterprise Northern Innovation Hub programme is delighted to sponsor this year’s business woman of the year award.

“Highland Business Women is a fantastic supportive network, and the annual awards provide an excellent platform to showcase the inspirational and highly-driven female entrepreneurs and business leaders based in our region.

“With funding from the Inverness and Highland City-Region Deal, the Northern Innovation Hub is pleased to be helping many of them to innovate and grow through our range of programmes.”

Jennifer Macdonald-Nethercott, of Strath Communications and Wilder Waves, won the business woman of the year category in 2021.

Hosted by Nicky Marr, the 2022 HBW Awards will take place at the Kingsmills Hotel on August 25.

Awards are open to members and non-members of HBW.

Applications can be found at: https://hbw.scot/awards

The deadline for applications is midnight on July 31.
