Sometimes all a girl needs is someone to tell her she can do it. A little inspiration and motivation can go a long way. Annmarie is just that. Inspirational coach, this lady is helping women everywhere achieve their fullest potential. Strong supporter of women, Annmarie is every women’s personal cheerleader. This week, we were lucky enough to have her answer some of our questions about how it all started and where she gets her inspiration from.
BWR: What inspired you to become a coach?
Annmarie: I’ve always been drawn to some form of helping others and coaching throughout my life. But, my initial path took me to a corporate career. I learned so much. However, towards the end of that career, I felt this pull to be a part of something bigger that involved helping women. I’m deeply intuitive and empathetic. So, it’s really easy for me to see the good in others and what they are capable of. It kills me to think about all of the amazing women out there playing it small, doubting their greatness and staying in unhappy or unfulfilling situations. The impact they would have in this world if they just had the right guidance and believed in themselves more gives me chills. It’s something I have to be a part of.
BWR: Where do you get your inspiration from?
Annmarie: I’ve been lucky to have a lot of great coaches, mentors, and friends come into my life since starting my own business. Their talent and how they fearlessly put themselves out there inspires me on a daily basis. There is a true movement of women rising up right now and it’s breathtaking.
BWR: What is the number one strategy to help women overcome their challenges and become the better version of themselves?
Annmarie: SELF-LOVE. It’s EVERYTHING and essential to having peace. It’s critical to happiness and connected to success. If you are constantly seeking love, validation and recognition from others, then you will be disappointed and left seeking more. But, when you have unconditional love for yourself, a sureness will come over you. You’ll be filled with extraordinary self-belief, leaving you unshakable, more confident and with the ability to receive more love from others. We’ve been putting ourselves down and downplaying what we are capable of for years. So the first step is this: NO NEGATIVE SELF TALK.
I’m not sure if it’s because women are taught not to boast about themselves or if we think we connect more with others by talking about how we don’t have it all together. But it’s got to stop. This can be an obstacle for many. You are basically sending yourself a message that you are not good enough. Just remember, never speak badly about yourself. You’re always listening.
BWR: Do you believe that having a strong network of women who support and encourage you is crucial to help women succeed in their life?
Annmarie: Oh my, yes! This one makes me pause and give thanks. I’ve been blown away at the women who have been there for me on this journey. It’s critical to have other women to connect, share ideas and be inspired by. If I could say one more thing, it’s that many women are fearful of putting themselves out there. Let’s face it. We’ve all been hurt at one point in our lives. But, I want to strongly encourage us all to take down our walls of “protection” and invite more love in. What people don’t realize is that these walls, although protecting us, are also blocking out the good stuff! If you have a pure heart with good intentions and anticipate the best in others, you’ll be fine. So open up those arms ladies! We are stronger together!
BWR: What do you believe is the biggest challenge that women face in their lives and do you have any advice that can help them overcome it?
Annmarie: We are so much to so many and we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to do it all. Many times I see women staying stuck because they don’t know how to slow down and figure out what they want. I always remind my clients that small steps count. So many women try to figure out steps 1 through 100 before they begin and what they really need to do is just take step one and then each step after that will become more clear.
How to move forward to a happier you:
1 – Declare you are no longer willing to stay where you are.
2 – Have unwavering faith in yourself and what’s possible for you.
3 – Make time to think about what you want more of in your life.
4 – Take inspired action one step at a time.
BWR: What would you say has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your professional career and how did you overcome it?
Annmarie: My biggest challenge was not letting others control my happiness. I used to let other people’s drama get to me, especially when things were said that didn’t represent me. But here’s what I believe and abide by now:
People in general are going to say and do things based on how they see the world. Everyone has their own unique lens based on their life experiences. Their perception is their reality. Once I fully embraced this, the actions and words of others no longer carried the same weight. Their issues were about them, not me.
If you come across a people-related dilemma, try this:
- Approach the situation with curiosity instead of defensiveness.
- Try to see the other person’s side.
- Ask yourself if you acted with integrity.
- Decide if you are willing to have a conversation to work things out.
- Rise above the situation, release all emotional reactions that don’t serve you and move on.
BWR: What has been your biggest accomplishment to date? What are you most proud of?
Annmarie: Besides starting my own business after a 20 year corporate career, it’s the mindset shift I’ve made in the last two that I’m most proud of. I’m truly grateful for everyone and everything in my life. I have faith that more goodness is coming. That’s been a huge change that has me seeing the positive in almost any situation. I’m more calm, content and happy. I believe this mindset shift is going to take me places I can’t even comprehend right now.
BWR: Where do you see yourself in 10 years? What is your main goal?
Annmarie:I hope to be the go-to resource for women who want to heal, find their happy and go big in life. Having a major online presence and a physical space as a destination retreat where women can connect, heal, discover and grow is part of my vision.
So, in 10 years my life will be filled with beautiful moments, glasses of rosé, and a financially viable business that allows me to live my best life, share my authentic voice and connect with inspiring and loving souls. I want to help women believe in themselves and go after their happy, which I know to my core will make this world a better place.
